Purity Kendi, the woman at the center of Kenya’s recent viral explicit video scandal, has broken her silence, pleading for public forgiveness. In an emotional statement, she revealed that she was blackmailed by her partner and was under extreme stress at the time.

Speaking through tears, Purity said, “Tafadhali Wakenya mnisamehe. Kuna mwanaume alikuwa ananitisia. Nikikataa kumutumia kitu anasema atanianika. Hata dio nilikuwa na stress.”

The woman explained that she never intended for the private content to be made public. She emphasized that she was manipulated and pressured into a situation that spiraled beyond her control, causing immense personal and emotional distress.

Her interview was facilitated by Wambui Wa Njihia, who has been supporting her during this difficult period. Purity’s plea underscores the human cost of digital exploitation and the dangers of private content being weaponized against individuals.

This revelation has sparked conversations across Kenya about consent, privacy, and the psychological impact of online blackmail. Many Kenyans have responded with messages of support, urging the public to allow her space to heal and move on from the trauma.

The incident continues to serve as a stark reminder of the consequences of sharing private content without consent and the urgent need for societal reflection on the ethics of viral media.
