Meru MPs Unite to Support President Ruto and Kindiki’s Re-election

Meru Members of Parliament, together with other local leaders, held a large meeting this morning with residents of Igoji East Ward in Imenti South. The meeting was aimed at showing strong support for President William Ruto and his deputy, Professor Kithure Kindiki, as they prepare for their re-election bid in 2027.

During the gathering, the leaders emphasized their full backing of the Kenya Kwanza government. They assured residents that they would continue to support the president and his deputy throughout their term, stressing that political stability and unity are essential for the continued development of Meru County.

Speaker after speaker addressed the crowd, highlighting the importance of unity among Meru leaders. They said that by standing together, Meru would be able to benefit more from national projects, government funds, and development programs. The leaders argued that a united political front would give the county a stronger voice in national decision-making.

One of the MPs stated, “We are here to tell our people that we are united behind the president and the deputy president. Meru will stand with the government because we want to see more development in our region. Unity is key if we are to achieve our goals.”

The leaders also reminded residents of the progress the county has made under the current administration. They cited improvements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social services, saying that continued support for the government would help consolidate these gains and bring more benefits to the people of Meru.

Residents were urged to remain peaceful and work together, avoiding political divisions that could hinder development. The leaders encouraged the community to focus on collective growth and participation in national programs that uplift families, youth, and farmers in the region.

The meeting ended with loud chants of “Meru ni Tutam,” a slogan showing solidarity with the Kenya Kwanza government. The strong turnout and unified message are seen as a demonstration of the county’s commitment to support President Ruto and Deputy President Kindiki in the upcoming elections.

Political analysts suggest that such meetings are part of early mobilization strategies by the Kenya Kwanza coalition in key counties ahead of the 2027 polls. They say that showing unity at the grassroots level is critical for securing votes and strengthening the government’s position nationally.
