Iran War Enters Day 16 as Fresh Strikes Kill 15 and Gulf Tension Deepens

The war between Iran, the United States, and Israel has entered its sixteenth day with new deadly airstrikes, retaliatory missile launches, and growing fear across the Gulf region.

According to Al Jazeera, early Sunday attacks on Iran’s city of Isfahan killed at least 15 people, while fresh missile sirens sounded across Israel as Tehran continued its retaliation.

Isfahan Hit Again as Civilian Areas Report Damage

Iranian media say the latest joint US-Israeli strikes targeted industrial and residential sections of Isfahan, one of the country’s most important central cities. Several people were injured in addition to those killed.

In southern Iran, reports also emerged from Shiraz, where local media described attacks on residential neighbourhoods. Iranian officials accused Washington and Tel Aviv of hitting civilian areas rather than military-only targets.

Iran’s government now says more than 1,400 people have died since the conflict began on February 28, while thousands of homes in Tehran have reportedly been damaged or destroyed.

Iran Launches 50th Wave of Retaliation

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced what it called its 50th wave of military operations, targeting US-linked military positions in Gulf states.

Iran says missiles and drones were directed toward bases in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait.

In Kuwait, two missiles reportedly landed near Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base, injuring soldiers. Bahrain activated warning sirens, while Qatar said it intercepted all incoming threats aimed at its territory.

Gulf Countries Face Rising Fear

The UAE remains one of the most sensitive fronts in the conflict.

Iran says ten missiles and multiple drones were launched toward Al Dhafra Air Base. Earlier debris from intercepted drones caused smoke and damage near Fujairah, a critical port near the Strait of Hormuz.

In Saudi Arabia, authorities intercepted drones over Riyadh while several previous missile attempts had already caused deaths and injuries.

Trump Pushes Harder as Hormuz Pressure Grows

Donald Trump says Iran wants negotiations, but he insists current terms are not enough.

He also called on countries that depend on Gulf oil — including China and Japan — to send warships to help protect shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has not fully closed the strait but says it is controlling access and may tighten restrictions further if attacks continue.

Israel Under Pressure Too

Inside Israel, more than 100 injured people were taken to hospitals in the last 24 hours as missile fragments fell near Tel Aviv and fires broke out in urban areas.

Air raid sirens continued overnight as both Iranian missiles and attacks linked to Hezbollah increased pressure on Israeli air defence systems.

Reports also suggest Israel is facing shortages in ballistic missile interceptors as the war stretches deeper into its third week.

No Sign of Immediate Calm

Even as Washington speaks publicly about possible diplomacy, both sides are escalating military pressure.

Iran insists there will be no ceasefire unless US and Israeli strikes stop first, while Gulf countries continue preparing for more incoming attacks.

For now, Day 16 has shown one clear reality: this war is expanding faster than diplomacy can catch up.
