Senator Cherargei Calls Uganda and Tanzania to act on Kenyan Activists

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has called on authorities in Uganda and Tanzania to take strict action against Kenyan activists operating in their countries. Speaking recently, Senator Cherargei said these activists are causing trouble and spreading false information that could harm Kenya’s interests.

Cherargei urged the governments of Uganda and Tanzania to “crack the whip” and ensure that the activists stop their activities. He claimed that some Kenyans living in these neighboring countries are engaging in activities that threaten peace and stability.

“Finya hao! These people should be stopped. We cannot allow individuals to operate outside the law and cause problems for our nation,” Cherargei said.

The senator’s remarks have sparked debates on social media, with some supporting his call for stricter measures, while others argue that freedom of speech should be respected, even for activists abroad.

Cherargei said the Kenyan government is monitoring the situation closely and will work with regional authorities to ensure that national security is protected. He emphasized that Kenya will not tolerate actions that undermine the country’s peace and development.

Political analysts say that calls like these reflect growing concerns over cross-border activism and its impact on politics and security in the East African region.
